Privacy Policy

1. Controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data on streamdesk.eu is the operator named in the Imprint: [COMPANY NAME AND ADDRESS — to be completed]. Contact for privacy matters: hello@streamdesk.eu.

2. What we collect

Account data: name, email address, profile photo and bio if you add them (managed via Clerk).

Purchase data: tickets bought, prices, and payment status. Card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.

Lecture participation: chat messages, poll votes, reactions, and — if you join the stage — your audio/video as part of the lecture stream and its recording.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, and server logs strictly needed to run and secure the service.

3. Why we process it (legal bases, Art. 6 GDPR)

To provide the platform and fulfil ticket purchases — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and moderate sessions — legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).

To meet tax and accounting obligations — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

For anything optional (e.g. marketing emails), we ask for consent first (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Processors and recipients

We use a small number of specialised providers under data processing agreements. Data is hosted in the EU; where a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. Retention

Account data is kept while your account exists and deleted or anonymised after closure, except where law requires longer retention (e.g. invoices). Chat messages and recordings are kept for as long as the related lecture remains available, after which they are deleted. Server logs are rotated automatically.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email hello@streamdesk.eu — we respond within one month.

7. Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service — session and authentication cookies set by the platform and by Clerk. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Changes

We will update this policy when the service or the law changes and announce material updates on the platform. The date above always reflects the current version.
